We are living in a rapidly changing world, where organizations need to transform more quickly than ever. The way in which services are created, managed, delivered, and updated is very different from 10 years ago – even different from one year ago! And still, we see that many organizations are using the same processes and practices to try and deliver value.
That's why in 2022, we created an opportunity for our community to learn how service management has evolved and the possibilities that exist. By making our SIAM and VeriSM training available for free, we wanted to open your eyes to the future. During three months, thousands of students and dozens of organizations have joined the evolution and started and completed FREE VeriSM and SIAM Training.
Four months later, we are happy to share that together we did more than that. We've been collecting feedback from our students that have joined the evolution and who want to share the progress they made.
As always, the feedback from our students is highly valuable and essential in helping us ensure we are delivering courses of the highest quality. Telling ITSM Zone about your experience means that we gain a better insight into what is important to you, where we are excelling and where we need to make improvements.
So with this in mind, we asked our students to share their thoughts with us about their training.
We are starting this Feedback Series with Abdallah Hassan Hafez, who is working for 7 years now as partner's support at Orange Egypt.
He had joined the evolution and finished the SIAM Foundation Training with us.
In his feedback session, he highlighted how the training has helped him in his current role, and he spoke about the rise of eLearning and shared his Top Tips for online learning.
1. What did you like or not like about our course?
I have joined the evolution and started the free SIAM Foundation Course. Personally, I think that it was a very good training, well prepared material and contents, good slides with good narration and the supporting documents (lessons study guides / exercises) were really helpful. But the most amazing document I believe it added value to the course was the “Study-Tracker”. As well, I want to say that I took many online courses during the past years using different platforms and one of the most important points before beginning the course is to set the plan and estimate the duration of every part for studying and finalize it. The “study tracker” saves time and gives accurate duration instead of just estimation, it is very helpful specially for the new beginners of the eLearning, says Abdallah.
2. How did this course fit with your existing schedule? Do you prefer eLearning or classroom learning?
I prefer eLearning because it is flexible to my schedule. I can organize my learning however I want and I can study from anywhere. I think classroom learning is still important in some courses and topics but for me personally and my style of learning online courses are working better,
3. How will this course benefit you?
The course supported me partially in my current role as a partner’s support at Orange Egypt. As well, the SIAM Foundation Course was part of my studying plan in service management, and I am planning to continue to grow my knowledge in this field,
4. The rise of online learning - will it be a forever change?
I believe that eLearning will be a normal and common learning method in the future especially for the postgraduates and working people. I say this because it is available in flexible hours 24/7 and it saves time and money of moving from place to place, meaning it fits to everyone individual’s schedule.
5. Can you please share your Top Tips for eLearning, in order to help other students succeed in eLearning?
To gain the maximum benefit of eLearning you need to:
We want to say a huge thanks to Abdallah for sharing his feedback and valuable tips with us! To all our community, thank you - your support and trust have been the biggest drive towards our continued growth.
