What is ITIL Strategic Leader? ITIL Strategic Leader (SL) is one of the streams of the ITIL 4 certification path. It features modules that recognize the value of the framework for all digitally-enabled services rather than just those associated with IT operations. Upon passing the ‘Direct, Plan & Improve (DPI)’ and ‘’Digital & IT Strategy (DITS)’ examinations, a candidate will earn the designation of ‘ITIL 4 Strategic Leader’. This will demonstrate their understanding of how IT impacts business strategy and vice versa. If a candidate has already passed the DPI exam as part of the ‘Managing Professional (MP)’ stream, they will not need to take the exam a second time.
