Sometimes we just need a quick, straightforward answer. No long winded explanations, complicated discussion or in depth analysis. I asked our team of Mentors to tell us all about SIAM in just 40 words. Here’s what they came up with:

Steve Morgan of Syniad IT

What is SIAM?

SIAM is a management method for IT operating models which have multiple service providers.

It enables organisations to create highly effective operating models which remove duplication and enable efficient operation where services are sourced from multiple service providers.

Why does my organisation need SIAM?
The guidance provided by SIAM enables effective organisation design, define efficient processes and select a tooling strategy which meets the specific needs of the organisation.  It brings together a set of practical guidance which can be easily understood and implemented.

What are the benefits of SIAM certification?
Certification provides a common language and base level of understanding.  It enables ideas to be shared and developed by everyone in a SIAM eco-system.  It is recommended to start early, so knowledge can be used throughout the SIAM programme

Every organisation deals with multiple service providers and often they don’t get along too well. A SIAM model assists in providing the understanding and both the stick and carrot to focus on end to end service delivery.
